Potentilla – Gold Drop

Description

Gold Drop Potentilla has a more compact form compared to the other potentilla varieties. It showcases deep yellow flowers all summer and into fall. It works best if planted along walkways/borders in the garden. They are low-maintenance plants. Be sure to remove older stems to the ground in early spring.

Prefers moist, well drained soils but will tolerate poor, dry conditions once established. Prune off one third of the branches in late winter to keep the habit full and attractive.

Due to its extreme toughness and long bloom time, potentilla is a versatile landscape plant. It is often planted en masse in parking lots and traffic islands, but at home, it works well as an edging, foundation planting, or even among many other plants in a flower garden.
