Description
Now this is fun! Echinacea Sunseekers ‘Apple Green’ is a coneflower with the most unusual semi-double flowers emerging apple green later developing white highlights all surrounding a large fragrant cone. Part of the Sunseekers collection bred for exceptional vigour, masses of non-fading flowers, and a dense, compact growth habit of less than two feet tall and wide. Plant in full sun in average (not overly rich), well-drained soils. Avoid soils that are overly moist in winter. Great winter interest and seeds for over-wintering birds.
Praised for their cheerful brightly colored flowers, coneflowers are a mainstay in today’s garden. Be sure to leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds. The dried seed heads also provide architectural interest in the winter. Requires very little fertilizing.
