Daylily/Hemerocallis – Bogeyman

Description

While named for its stunning near-black flower color, its sweetly fragrant, double flowers are sure to draw garden visitors closer, not scare them away. Bogeyman Reblooming Double Daylily features 5″, black-purple flowers with green throats. Growing 20″ tall with sturdy stems, this sun-loving perennial bursts into bloom in midsummer and then returns for another round of blooms in late summer to early fall. Its fragrant flowers attract butterflies. Dormant, evergreen, grass-like foliage adds to its beauty.

Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).

  • Early Midseason Bloomer, blooming in early July.
  • Rebloomer, producing a second set of flowers.
  • Fragrant flowers.
