Crabapple/Malus – Red Splendor

Description

The Red Splendor crabapple is a large, open, upright spreading crab that showcases single pink blooms, preceded by the 1/2″ bright red fruit that never falls off. The dark reddish-green glossy foliage is attractive and turns reddish purple in fall. Use this tree as a specimen, near patios, or as a residential street tree. Crabapple trees have been successfully grown in urban areas where air pollution, poor drainage, compacted soil, and/or drought are common.
