Crabapple/Malus – Emerald Spire

A hardy and truly small tree, Emerald Spire® is slow growing with a columnar compact form. Bright fuchsia colored buds open to pink flowers in the spring. Plentiful ornamental red 1” fruit follows, and due to the compact canopy, fruit drop is concentrated into a small area. Dark green to purple leaves have remarkable disease resistant turning yellow in the fall. Prefers moist, well drained soil. This Crabapple is a great choice for an accent tree, used as a screen, or for small spaces.
