The Sweet Sixteen apple is crisp and juicy with an exotic yellow flesh and a very sweet, spicy flavor with hints of citrus and vanilla. The Sweet Sixteen apple tree produces a large, boxy apple, mostly red on a yellow-green skin, with prominent white lenticels. The fruit stores for 5 to 8 weeks. Sweet Sixteen apple tree was developed in 1973 by the University of Minnesota from Northern Spy and Frostbite parents. Fireblight resistant.
