Zone 4/5 care: Thrives in lean, well-drained soil and actually performs better without heavy fertilizing. Avoid rich or overly wet soil which can cause flopping. Shear plants lightly after the first flush of bloom to encourage fresh foliage and possible rebloom. Divide every few years to maintain vigor.
